We ended up agreeing to play the ball "up" in the fairways as getting a reasonable lie was a crap shoot. Very worn with little effort to maintain them. The tees and fairways were in horrible condition. Complete opposite of the guy in the clubhouse. We made our way to the first hole (skipped warm up) and was met by a terrific starter. I attempted to strike up a conversation with him but he was having none of it. I was virtually the only person in the shop when checking in and he was clearly disturbed I was taking time away from his time fooling around on his cell phone. First, the gentleman behind the desk in the pro shop was the least friendly person I've run into in weeks. I belong to a local private course and he wanted to reciprocate for having been a guest at my course several times in the past. Played as a guest of a friend of mine who was visiting from out of town.
